Three championship golf courses

Kapalua is definitely the ultimate vacation destination for the avid golfer. There are three championship golf courses in the resort:

The Bay Course

The Bay Course, designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane, is the forerunner of Kapalua's three championship golf courses, The Bay Course is a 6,600-yard par 72 with gently rolling fairways and generous greens. The Bay Course is an excellent example of resort golf at its best.

The Village Course

Kapalua's second Arnold Palmer design layout, The Village Course, twists, turns, rises and falls through the West Maui foothills. A serene trek through Hawaiian headlands, stands of Cook and Norfolk pines characterize this par 70 6,317-yard course.

The Village is complex enough to challenge the seasoned professional yet can be every bit as enjoyable for beginning golfers as well.

The Plantation Course

The par 73, 7,263-yard Plantation Course, is the course of the champions, site of the PGA TOUR Mercedes Championships each January featuring an elite field of previous year's PGA TOUR winners.

The field has included such golf greats as Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Justin Leonard, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Davis Love III and more.

The grand scale of the course designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore unfurls across natural geographic formations and pineapple plantation fields that take your breath away.

The world's best beach

In 1991, Kapalua Bay gained worldwide attention by being ranked first out of a total of 650 beaches. The survey was based on 50 physical, biological and human considerations, including texture and color of sand, frequency of breaking waves and degree of solitude.

This famous beach fronts Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean Villas and includes a beach activities desk offering a wide variety of watersports equipment and activities including snorkeling.

Art and Hawaiian culture events

Visitors of all ages will find opportunities to nurture their creative spirit through the wide range of art and cultural programs. Hawaiian elders and cultural advisors welcome you to join them for Mai Ka Pu_uawi, an intimate evening of story telling and a "A Sense of Place" presentation, a weekly historical encounter and tour of the ancient Honokahua Preservation Site.

At The Kapalua Shops, you'll enjoy traditional ancient hula performances and Hawaiian slack key guitar and steel guitar performances. For hands-on creation of Hawaiian crafts, join in on lei making or Hawaiian quilt making classes.

Come by The Art School at Kapalua to register for many workshops offered in painting, clay, sculpturing, and ceramics to name a few.

Fun for the kids

Kapalua Resort offers many activities to keep your kids happy and active: arts and crafts, kayaking, sonorkeling, body boarding, horseback riding, golf, eco-adventures and much more!

Great Shopping
